284. Harmonious Discordance
This is acrylic on a 20 × 24 x 1.5 inch gallery profile canvas. In painting, discordance means, “a lack of agreement or harmony in the visual elements of a composition.” I was influenced by the line in a song that goes, “I play discordant days on repeat, until they look like harmonies.” In the song, the protagonist has gotten bored with themselves and feels they play the same chords over an over. I often feel that way with my painting. For this one, I played with discordant colors until it looks like something pleasing to me.
